My Rebuke

According to Revelation 3, Jesus reproves and discipline those He loves. Well, I was rebuked greatly this morning by my Great King!!! As Christians we are empowered by the Holy Spirit for good works, and those good works are just that “Good”, meaning “Christ exalting good” not self-exalting. As the Holy Spirit has given me strength to accomplish these “good” works, I often times will not mention them or make light of them; always telling myself, “you are staying humble”. This is a great lie that Satan uses against me, humility! Do not misunderstand me, I and we are called to be humble (James 4:6, Luke 1:52 and many more) , not to boost in ourselves and not to justify boosting in ourselves, by throwing God in there. However, we must also understand Matthew 5:14-16, "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. We must very carefully, with the teaching from the Holy Spirit, understand this passage. Our good works should always glorify God and the proof of them, is that they will, and people will give glory to God. My rebuke this morning from the Holy Spirit was this, “ Why are you stealing away from Me the opportunity for more glory, worship, and praises, with your so called humility”. God may it never be, give me strength to be a “city on a hill” and a “lamp on a stand”. May you do your Christ-exalting good works for all to see and give praise to Him. So that He may receive all He deserves.

Completion of Joy

Proverbs 18:20, With the fruit of a man's mouth his stomach will be satisfied; He will be satisfied with the product of his lips.

When you take your first bite of something really good, that bite hits your taste buds and travels down your throat into your intestines and then to the stomach. And the one thing you never do after you take your first bite of something good, is NOTHING!! You say, "Wow, that was good" you never hold your tongue. Your praises ring out over that food; which is evidence of your satisfaction in that bite of food, (I praised my wife's chocolate pie last night).

Praising Christ is not just something you do on Sunday morning during the worship time. It is your personal evidence, of the satisfaction you find in Jesus Christ. Tasting Him, savoring him, digesting Him and then RESULTING in, weeping with joy, singing at the top of your lunges, dancing(careful religious folk), SPOKEN praises, to the cross bearing, God's wrath and justice satisfying, affection feeling, heart felt weeping, king who sovereignly rules the world with an iron rod. So today complete your joy in Jesus Christ by praising Him. All glory be to God!!!

Bear fruit in keeping with repentance!!

I was opening up my browser on the computer and on my home page this article jumped out at me!!! 10 things Americans cant live without. I was very interested in what these were!! Here is one of those things: "Amercians are spending less on entertainment--but watching more TV. A recent survey by consulting firm Deloitte found that they typical American watches nearly 18 hours' worth of shows on a home TV each week, two hours more than a year earlier. One reason might be that more unemployed people are killing time at home. But TV might also seem like a cheap alternative to sports events, concerts and DVD purchases. And hard-core TV watchers can't be all that strapped, since sales of high-definition TV sets have risen steadily right through the recession." There are so many things that are wrong with this statement, but as I began to read I said, "I am not consumed by these things, I don't even have television, Praise God I'm not like the world." How easily Satan will take a jewel in the crown of a believer and entice him to exalt in himself. Luke 18:11-12, "The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: God, I thank you that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all I get. When we are not mindful of the fact that we are SINNERS saved by grace through faith, it is so easy to trail off into the mindset and dare I say stay in the mindset of pride, holier than thou, I'm not like you, type of thinking. Don't get me wrong, or misunderstand me, we should not be like the world, we should not love the things of this world, we should not be motivated by the things of this world, all of our affection should be in Christ and we should be able to stand with Paul and say, I count all things as loss, rubbish, garbage. That, Christ is our supreme satisfaction, our eternal joy!!! And when we put off the things of this world it IS A JEWEL in the crown of the believer. Therefore, we must have the mindset of the tax collector, Luke 18:13-14, But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, the sinner! I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted. May God be exalted in everything we do, and not ourselves!!

I am needy and attention hungry!!!!

Why in the world would God plant a beautiful flourishing flower in the dessert?? A place no one will ever see it, a place where it wont be praised for its beauty, a place where people can not take pictures of it, a place where it will never be known. Its very simple....... For His benefit, His glory. So that He can look down on that beautiful flower in the dessert and be happy!!! God make me the flower in the dessert, I dont care if I am ever seen or known, but to be known by You is what I truly want. Christian, we should strive to be that flower in the dessert. Jesus saved you for Himself and the truth in that is so beautiful.... I have a dog named "beanie" and I have created for him a home, food, water and many other comforts that he doesnt even understand. I am his Master... When I come home he is so excited to see me, he just wants me to give him my attention, he jumps at leg, runs around my feet and barks, all just so I would pet him and show him some attention. His whole life and meaning is wrapped up in me, all he wants is me to love him. I find myself to be just like Beanie, I want so desperately for God to just look down on me and be pleased. I run around His feet and jump at His legs, as if to say, "here I am God pet me". Everything I have is because He has seen fit to give me, for no other reason than for himself. I am a needy person and seeking so much attention from my God!!!! And He would have it no other way. All praise be to Him.

Things of this world, SERIOUSLY!!!!

"How blessed is the man who does not walk in the council of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night"(Psalm 1:1-2) -----What joy the Christian has walking opposite of the world. The path of righteousness is not a path of dissatisfaction, turmoil, or strictly obedience, for obedience sake!! His DELIGHT is in the law of the Lord, and evidence of this truth is that, the Christian, meditates on the word of God day and night!!! He loves his Lord, desires his God, runs after Jesus. Jesus is our true satisfaction! What can the world offer, that would even offer a fraction of comparison to what we have in Jesus Christ.
